2020-2021 Season

Performing in PJs: Making Art In the Time of Coronavirus

When the world stopped, like most theatres, we were only able to keep the ghostlight on by going online. This YouTube series contains short plays, songs, poetry, monologues, duets and ensemble pieces, performed by our Players from across the years (including those who were to perform in Colonialism Is Terrible But Pho Is Delicious by Dustin Chinn which was in pre-production when March 2020 “happened”)

Video edited and curated by Artistic Director  Ann Catherine Zarate, enjoy this array of performances performed from the homes of our Players. Are they in PJs… only you can decide.

These pieces are poignant, inspirational, curious, and wonderful. Enjoy for free online at youtube.com/trinitystreetplayers

MTI’s All Together Now: a global event celebrating local theatre

For the first time ever, five organizations under #ATXtheatre joined together to produce Music Theatre International’s All Together Now. Across the globe thousands of theatres and schools produced this celebration of theatre through song. Hundreds of thousands of performers gathered for one weekend only!

This included Austin’s own Joey Banks, Glenna Bowman, Scott Bratton, Sara Burke, Lucky Cantu, Owen Ellis, Rick Felkins, Sarah Fleming Walker, Sophie Gwaldo, Leslie Hollingsworth, Susan Johnston Taylor, JP Lopez, Donny Thigpen, Matt Shead, Corin Vandenberg, and Ann Catherine Zarate with pianist Jeffery Jones-Ragona.

Producers Andy Berkovski (The City Theatre), Andrew Cannata (Zilker Theatrical Productions), Ginger Morris (Summer Stock Austin), Laura Toner Haddock (Austin Playhouse), and Ann Catherine Zarate (Trinity Street Players) chose a steller lineup of classic songs from MTI including  “Be Our Guest,” “You Could Drive A Person Crazy,” “Back To Before,” “This Is the Moment,” “We’re All In This Together,” and more for this 2021 theatrical gathering of theatre artists to celebrate the slow re-opening of theatres around the world!
